I’m so tickled that Jon LeCraft was the presenter of the Professions information on the WoW panel – woot! Some day I’d like to have an actual conversation with him to ask all my burning questions about crafting, but for now this will have to suffice. <I’m SUCH a nerd!> Now let’s get to the goodies:

This morning my first task was to work on Engineering, since I spent the first night of the patch doing Alchemy and Jewelcrafting. First my Engineer needed to learn the new recipes, then make a Wormhole Generator. Once that was done, I immediately portalled myself to Ulduar to try farming the Jeeves recipe.
In our last post we talked about the new re-speccing process and how we’ll be able to easily switch between Goblin and Gnomish specialties. Another big addition to our toy chest in the next patch is Jeeves. I have to tell you, I was seriously excited when I read about this. Not because of the functionality – no no. I just want my own personal manservant and it doesn’t get any better than a Jeeves.
So Engineers are FINALLY getting the ability to change specializations in Patch 3.2. I believe this is the last profession to be given this option, and it’s at least a year overdue compared to other tradeskills. But what does this actually entail? The patch notes say nothing about who/when/where. Don’t you love it when Blizzard adds a new feature and neglects to include any details on the subject? I know I do ;)
Hey all – sorry for the long delay in posts! I’ve been recovering from my trip and getting caught up on web site work. We just put up the new 3.2 recipes for Jewelcrafting, Alchemy and Engineering. Make sure you select “Test Realm” if you want to see just 3.2 recipes. The items aren’t fully working yet because the WoWHead 3.2 data isn’t live, but everything is in place for when that happens. All of the new recipes are there and the information should be current as of the most recent build. No promises on the epic gem transmutes… we’re on the 3rd revision of mats for them rofl!
Also, I’ve updated our First Aid guide to include Lich King information as well as the recent change to trainers. The First Aid recipe list has also been updated to match. I’ll be spending the summer doing clean-up on the site while we have this lull in WoW action. Hopefully 3.2 will come out soon and liven things up, eh?
First, I want to thank all you guys who left comments about the new Engineering changes that were published yesterday. I spent most of Monday at airports and on planes, so I was unaware that new tradeskill changes had occurred. From what I’ve seen, Engineers are rejoicing at all the new toys coming their way and I certainly don’t blame them. Patch 3.2 looks to be the patch that us tinkers were waiting for :)
I wasn’t able to find enough data for some of the other tradeskills on the 3.2 Test Realm, so I’m just going to combine this information into one post. Here are some screenshots I took of new recipes in Leatherworking, Inscription and Engineering, plus a couple of items for Alchemy and Jewelcrafting: (more…)
I don’t know how many of you caught this little gem in today’s patch notes:
“Engineers can now obtain the schematics for Lil’ Smoky and the Pet Bombling from certain creatures found in Gnomeregan. Specialized Gnomish or Goblin engineers can obtain both schematics equally. The repeatable quest that used to randomly grant these schematics has been disabled.”
The Test Realm for Patch 3.1 went live earlier today and the news has been rolling fast and furious. I also got a quick chance to snoop around a bit, although sadly I was not able to turn up as much information as I’d like. Stupidly I copied the only one of my 70+ toons who isn’t able to get to Dalaran. For now I’m stuck with the starting zones in Northrend until I can get another toon copied.
This morning on the EU forums comes a blue post that recinds the loss of consumable ammunition for the next major patch: read it here. There’s been no change to the intent to drop consumable ammo, it’s just not going to happen in time for Patch 3.1. The sentiment of my last post stands, this is merely a stay of execution ;)
