Transmogrification… Complete!

December 11, 2008

I have no idea when this went Live, but last night when I logged in there was a new blurb on the launcher window.  A Draenei dude morphing into a Draenei chic?  The links were a mess and I kept getting page errors or just plain sent to the wrong thing.  Finally I found my way into the Account section and sure enough there was a new option for character reassignment!  Well this is a huge dream come true for me, finally my Alchemist can be the woman he always knew he was on the inside.  I plunked down my $15 for gender reassignment right then and there!!

The Argent Dawn is Back!

October 26, 2008

The Scourge Invasion isn’t particularly crafting related, but it is faction related so I thought I’d bring it up.  Some of you may remember this event from a couple of years ago, but now it’s back and it’s been tweaked for the Lich King.  The undead mobs and their drop goodies are now level 70, so if you have any alts who could use a upgrade this may be an easy way to do it.

Hallow’s End + Fishing = Death?!

October 23, 2008

Yes, that’s right.  Yesterday my guild leader was kind enough to invite me to a Lurker Fish Fry and walk me through the fishing achievement.  I’d heard that it was soloable, and apparently he’d gotten a tip from a nameless buddy on how to do it with Hallow’s End Pumpkin Treats.  The trick to reaching Lurker without pulling aggro from any other mobs is to walk across the water.  Now I’ve read on El’s site that you can do this any number of ways, but they require some sort of levitate *and* slow-fall ability, which not everyone has.  But using the pumpkin treats, this can be done by anyone.

Fun with the Scroll of Randomness

October 16, 2008

There’s no such thing you say?  Ahhh, I beg to differ.  Perhaps you know it by another name: Scroll of Recall.  “But”, you say, “it’s unreliable above level 40, why would I use that???”  Well, I’m about to give you a reason!

Pied Piper of Dalaran

September 27, 2008

For the past week I’ve been working on Cooking and beyond 400 is slow going.  I’ll share more on this once I hit 425 and get my “sneak peek” written, but for now let’s just say that I’m a slave to the city chef.  My recipe of choice has been the Critter Bites and at this point I have so many of them (about 3 stacks) that I thought I just play and see what they did.

Kaliope’s First WotLK Dungeon: The Nexus

September 19, 2008

Kaliope hasn’t really been getting the love too much in Northrend.  What with all the ore farming and lack of Leatherworking recipes to power beyond the 300s, she’s been mostly dormant.  She was sitting about halfway through level 70 last night, when I decided I would be brave and volunteer to heal a PUG.   (more…)

Cutest. Thing. Ever.

September 16, 2008

Ok, so you know that I don’t normally write about other topics, since this is a crafting blog.  I really tried to restrain myself this time, I even visited BRK’s blog to see if he had covered this already.  But no, it seems that forces beyond my control are pushing me into drifting off-topic.  My new hunter pet.

Beta Fun Friday

September 7, 2008

Well Friday was my first day in the WotLK Beta.  ‘Black’ Friday was also the day that Blizz decided to push up the 8905 patch, which has created some chaos on the servers as you may have heard.  Indeed, the server goes down every 5-20 minutes.  Late Friday and early Saturday, I was lucky to get 5 solid minutes before a crash.  By the end of Saturday I could go as long as 15-20 minutes before I was bumped again.

You Go El!

August 20, 2008

One other thing I wanted to share with you guys that I found in the Beta forums (yes I skulk around there in case something interesting pops up :P).  Someone started a discussion about the tuning of quests in the starting zones.  Of course this went on for three pages with bickering back and forth about whether they were too easy or reasonably challenging. Vestments of Summer

June 25, 2008

For those of you engaging in the Midsummer Fire Festival, you may have noticed that a few of the goodies for purchase are quite “pricey” in terms of blossom value. I myself was skeptical of the items since the descriptions are vague and you can really only afford one beefy object (maybe 2 if you do every possible quest and daily available). Therefore, it helps to know what you’re getting and that’s where this post comes in.
