New patch notes have been posted recently from the PTR and I’ve just copied my own characters to the Test Realm to analyze them more fully. Some are pretty obvious, so I thought I’d share my thoughts on these in the interim:
- All 23-hour profession cooldowns are now 20-hour cooldowns.
- All 4-day cooldowns are now 3 days, 20 hours.

I know, I said I would post these earlier… but then a bunch of new stuff hit the PTR for Jewelcrafting and I got distracted by the pretties
Anyway, I do have some screenshots of the new Engineering goggles. One thing I noticed though, the images I took right after the test server went up are different than the ones I took a couple of weeks ago. So bear in mind that the mats and/or stats are subject to change: (more…)

In case you haven’t noticed yet, the Lunar Festival went up this past Tuesday after maintenance. For those new to WoW, there are some special recipes available during this event. The only professions offered are Tailoring and Engineering, but if you have one of those professions you’re in luck. Tailors could potentially even make money now by crafting the “festival” wear and selling them on the Auction to folks who don’t want to bother with coin collecting to buy their own. Engineers probably won’t be able to take advantage, since the fireworks recipes they can purchase are likely canceled out by the fireworks vendors associated with the event. Even so, if you’re an Engineer this is a great time to beef up your recipe collection. (more…)

Last night I was wandering around Netherstorm with my Engineer. Kayree just made her epic flying machine, thanks to the loan of 3000g from my other toons, and was out trying to regain some cash through questing and mote farming. I was working on the manaforge quests and any other Consortium or Aldor quests I could squeeze in at the same time. I’ve also been making a point to kill some of the BoP recipe guys I happen upon in my wanderings, not serious farming but more like fly-by-farming. I’m not really looking forward to doing real farming on a Prot warrior, what can I say?

Yesterday I was thrilled to discover that they fixed my beloved gas clouds during the maintenance, even though they didn’t release the 2.3.2 patch yet. Hey, I don’t care how I got it, I’m gonna take it! So now I’m back in business farming motes for my warrior’s epic flying mount.

I had my first full evening of farming with my new flying machine + gas cloud detection goggles and it would appear that the gas clouds have been taken away. I did circuits around Shadowmoon, Nagrand, Zangarmarsh and Netherstorm and found zero gas clouds. I even did a double-check on my goggles to see if the detection bonus had been removed (thankfully no). I can only hope that they broke it with this latest patch. After I logged out, I went over to the WoW forums to see if anyone else was having similar issues. Lo and behold, the second new post I see is “Windy Clouds Nerfed?” on the official message board.
Seems I am not the only one who had problems

My warrior Kayree finally hit 70 on Sunday night, and the first thing on my ToDo list was to make a Flying Machine. I had to play some mail shuffle to get all the various ingredients to her, smelt the fel iron bars, etc. I also had to buy the elemental seaforium charges - ouch! I had the ingredients in the bank but I forgot that I wasn’t going to have the recipe by then.

I have to say I’m not anxious to create additional competition for myself by sharing this information, but I’m going to suck it up and post anyway. Since I’ve already noticed a distinct nosedive in prices on the AH over the past few days, I assume word is out to a certain extent. I speak, of course, of the windy clouds in Nagrand.

As you probably know, Engineers are getting some good stuff in the next patch and I’m not just talking about gyrocopters. We also get new high-end arrows and a reworking of the Adamantite Shells recipe as well. (more…)

As I figured, the new flying machines for Engineering have caused quite a stir. I finally got my engineer copied to the PTR yesterday and she went out to Shadowmoon Valley to find out what components were required to make them.
